The Heritage of Green Hills, a healthy life plan community in Shillington, announced that the Heritage Benefit Fund has raised more than $100,000 since the Fund was established. The Fund, a 501 (c) (3) organization, assists residents of the senior community who have outlived their financial resources or are faced with unexpected medical and other expenses.

The Heritage Benefit Fund was established in 2014 and has raised $101,652 to benefit residents in need. A recent fundraising event, the fifth annual Casino Night held in October, raised $2,997 for the Fund bringing the year-to-date fundraising total to $10,499.

“We have a very strong sense of community at The Heritage,” said Pat Lang, a resident of the community and chairwoman of the Fund’s board. “We really care for one another here – residents and staff – and that dynamic is exemplified by the Heritage Benefit Fund. We understand that some of our neighbors need a helping hand from time to time. Who better to assist them than their neighbors?

“We’re grateful, too, for the generosity of our surrounding community for our supporting our fundraising.”

Heritage of Green Hills residents hold a variety of fundraisers throughout the year to support the Fund including two annual events: The Heritage Golf Outing in June and The Heritage Casino Night in October.
