Are you on the KonMari kick? The much talked about trend of eliminating clutter to bring balance to your life is all over the news. Sometimes you can’t get started because you just don’t know what to do with the stuff! If so, the Friends of Mifflin Community Library suggest you start with your jewelry box.
The Friends Group is collecting your unwanted or unworn jewelry — necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, you name it, to resell at their annual Books, Baubles and Bling Sale in April.
“We added baubles to the mix last spring, and found that people really enjoyed the chance to find a unique new treasure for a very affordable price,” said Carolyn Royer, chair of the Baubles and Bling Committee.
Some finer donated pieces were offered on the Friends new non-profit Ebay Store. This year they are hoping that donors will bring both Baubles and Bling (sterling silver and gold jewelry). As the items are sold on Ebay, the donor will receive receipts which can be used for tax deductions.
So, if that Bauble or Bling no longer sparks joy in you, donate it to the sale which benefits programs at the Mifflin Community Library. Collections are being accepted through April 13 at the library located at 6 Philadelphia Ave. in Shillington. Make a private appointment to donate vintage or more valuable pieces year-round by calling the library at 610-777-3911.
If you’re looking for some unique jewelry pieces, and to support the library, come to the MCL Books and Baubles Sale on April 25 to 27. Sale hours are Thursday, April 25, from 12 to 8 p.m.; Friday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
