It has been a successful season for the Spring Ford Sting 12 U travel softball team. Lead by Coach Dan Miller, the girls competed in 10 tournaments since April, placing in the top two of four tournaments in Eastern Pa. The latest victory came as the girl's captured first place in the USSSA Eastern Pennsylvania Championship, held in Hilltown Pa., July 12th. The team is now preparing for the highlight of the season, ASA Nationals, held in Sterling VA. Scheduled to begin the last week in July.

Coach Miller's team is comprised of girls representing Perkiomen Valley, Spring Ford, Phoenixville, Owen J. Roberts and Daniel Boone School Districts. Miller's team will be advancing to the 14U division of travel ball for the Fall 2009 season, Spring 2010.

The Spring-Ford Girls Softball Association (SFGSA) is a highly competitive softball program, consisting of very motivated and dedicated young women, ages nine through twenty-three. As a result, softball is a year round activity that goes beyond the spring/summer tournament season to include year round indoor practice, providing outstanding softball instruction and skills development. The purpose of the program is to prepare the players for senior high school varsity and college softball. SFGSA field's teams at the 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U and Open levels. The teams are members of the ASA, PONY and USSSA Softball organizations.
