A Stowe man was hospitalized after jumping in front of two vehicles when fleeing a crash in Amity Township, police said.
Orin Toomer, 24, of Stowe was the driver of a vehicle that struck a pickup truck in Douglass Township and then fled west on Route 422 into Amity Township on Aug. 29, police said.
Witnesses told police on Aug. 29 the car ran a red light, drove through an empty parking lot, across both eastbound lanes of Route 422, crashed through a sign and came to rest in a field.
Toomer then exited the vehicle and ran west on the shoulder of the eastbound lane. He jumped onto the hood of an eastbound car and rolled off. After getting up, Toomer continued running west, jumped in front of another vehicle, was struck by that vehicle and was thrown into the roadway.
Toomer was taken to the Reading Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
He was listed in good condition, a hospital official said Monday, Aug. 31.
The crash is still under investigation, officials said.
