Father's Day weekend is a tradition at the Animal Rescue League in Birdsboro. That's when we open our doors from 9:00am until 9:00pm on Saturday and Sunday, June 16 and 17 in hopes of attracting more adopters who cannot get to the shelter during regular operating hours. This event is very special for the ARL, and it keeps getting better each year. At last year's Adopt-a-thon, over 40 animals found new homes.
In addition to the best selection of pets anywhere, we will have food and refreshments, silent auction items, and the ARL's Grey Muzzle Foster Program will be selling baked goods to benefit the senior and special needs pets.
To make the event more exciting, we will have a 'chance wheel' for adopters to spin to win prizes or reduced adoption fees.
Since June is Adopt-a-Cat month, the ARL is offering to waive the adoption fee for cats one year and older for qualifying adopters who bring in a donation of wet or dry kitten food. In addition, the ARL has been offering half off the adoption fee for any animal who has been at the ARL for more than three months, and the adoption fee is waived for any animal here longer than six months.
All adopters must meet the ARL's adoption policies and are encouraged to bring proof of homeownership or their lease showing that they are allowed to own pets, and proof of rabies for all existing pets.
The ARL also will be hosting a blood drive (human only) on Saturday, June 16 from noon to 3:00pm by appointment only. Please contact Barrie Pease at 610-373-8830 ext. 115 or email email@example.com.
Your on-site coverage of this event will go a long way in helping more animals find their forever homes.
