The Tel Hai Retirement Community invites their neighbors to the start of another season of free concerts beginning Thursday, Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the community's chapel located off Beaver Dam Road in Honey Brook Township.
The soloist for the evening is percussionist, Mark O'Kain. He will be accompanied on piano by Jeffrey Uhlig, a fellow member of the Ocean City, N.J., Pops orchestra.
O'Kain has been returning on an annual basis to perform for his very appreciative local audience. Mark will entertain on xylophone, marimba and vibraphone in the course of the concert. His accompanist, Mr. Uhlig is also a favorite of among the many performers who grace the stage at Tel Hai each season.
O'Kain earned his Bachelor's degree at the University of Tennessee and a Master's in Percussion Performance from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Uhlig is principal keyboard with the Princeton Symphony Orchestra and the Ocean City Pops in New Jersey. Uhlig also holds the Lilian Kraus Felber Distinguished Faculty Chair in Piano at the Settlement Music School in Philadelphia.
