We all know that girls love the color pink, but this year on Friday October 5, 2012, the Twin Valley High School Girls Soccer Team is hoping that the whole community will love it too. The girls, led by rookie Head Coach Colin Kent, are organizing a Pink Out game and fundraiser, with 100 percent of the proceeds going towards cancer research and awareness. Coach Kent initiated this newly formed tradition, and has hopes to repeat it annually as a way for the girls to give back to their community.

Coach Kent commented about the event, saying 'Cancer has affected so many people throughout the world and in our community. The money raised at our Pink Out event will be donated to benefit cancer research right here in the Twin Valley area. Come on out to watch our girls soccer teams take on Kutztown and be a part of this tremendous event.'

The Pink Out event will be held at the Twin Valley High School stadium during the high school varsity and junior varsity soccer games versus their Kutztown. Gates will open at 2 p.m., with the kick off for the junior varsity game at 3 p.m. and varsity kick-off is 5:30 p.m. The entry fee is $5 for adults and $3 for students, children or seniors. Spectators are encouraged to wear pink to show their support.

This fun, family-friendly event will not only promise exciting field soccer action, but multiple fundraiser opportunities. The players will support this pink out by wearing hot pink soccer socks and pink pre-wrap for their games.

The opening ceremony features team announcements and introductions, as well as the singing of the national anthem by some very talented Twin Valley High School students. During the game there will be fundraiser items for sale including bags of pink popcorn (donated by Half Nuts Popcorn Co., LLC), pink cupcakes and cookies (donated by a local vendor). There will also be raffle basket items and a 50/50 drawing. Additional fundraisers donations would be welcome (those interested in becoming donors can contact Coach Colin at colin@readingunitedac.com for more information).

A full snack-bar menu will be open during the games and offer hot dogs, walking tacos, pretzels, fruit, chips, sodas, candy and more. During half-time of each game there will be exhibition games featuring teams from the Twin Valley Soccer Club. The Twin Valley Middle School Band will perform between the junior varsity and varsity games.

So come out to support a worthy cause and the Twin Valley Girls Soccer Team and enjoy a fun evening.
