The Twin Valley School Board will vote June 15 on its $65.8 million 2020-21 budget that includes small property tax decreases in Berks and Chester counties.
In Berks, the tax rate would be lowered 1.12% to 27.2495 mills. In Chester, the decrease is minuscule, moving to 30.4651 mills from the current rate of 30.4698 mills.
According to budget documents, the district's revenues are expected to lag behind expenses. The documents show a gap of $2.6 million that will be filled with reserve funds.
Schools across the state are projecting significant losses in local revenues next school year because of the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
