A vacant mobile home in Greenwich Township was destroyed by flames late Wednesday, fire officials said Thursday.
Crews from Kempton Fire Company and several assisting companies responded shortly before 10 p.m. to the fire at 92 Yarnall Road, which intersects Hausman Road just north of Interstate 78.
Neighbors saw flames on the hilltop property and called 9-1-1, Kempton Assistant Chief Cory Cornell said. The fire could be seen for about a mile, he said.
The first crew arrived to find the double-wide mobile home engulfed in flames.
No one has resided in the dwelling for several years, and the loss was minimal, he said.
A state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
Firefighters remained at the scene for about five hours, putting out hot spots.
Berks County property records list the owners as John and Suzanne LaMastra of New Tripoli, Lehigh County.
