Winton Paul "Wimpy" Kershner, 91, formerly of Birdsboro, died Sept. 12, 2008, of natural causes in Mifflin Healthcare Center, Shillington, where he resided since 2003.He was the widower of Mary (Geyer) Kershner, who died in 1962.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Harry W. and Jennie (Bohn) Kershner.
He worked at the former Bethlehem Steel Co., Pottstown, in the engineering department for 30 years until retiring in 1976.
Kershner was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of VFW Post 411, Birdsboro; Birdsboro American Legion; Birdsboro Sportsman's Club; and Birdsboro Fire Company; and life member of Sinking Spring Fire Company.
Surviving is a son, Keith G.
Kershner, and wife, Nancy L. (Stoudt), Shillington.
Other survivors include a brother, Carl Kershner, Reading.
There are also a grandchild, Kimberly A., wife of Randy Reeser, Brecknock Township; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Kolbie Reeser; two nephews; and a niece.
Funeral services were Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Dengler Funeral Home Inc., 144 N. Spruce St., Birdsboro.
