Three days after seeing its football game postponed due to coronavirus-related concerns at Halifax, Hamburg was forced to cancel Monday's makeup for similar reasons.
Hamburg athletic director Aaron Menapace said his school canceled the game Monday afternoon when it learned that a student at the school who has been tested for COVID-19 had contact with members of the football team.
Results of that student's test are pending; as a precaution, Hamburg determined it best to cancel the game.
Friday's kickoff was pushed back to Monday at 5 when Halifax discovered potential COVID-19 exposure to its team; that decision was announced Friday afternoon.
Hamburg is scheduled to play a home game vs. Kutztown on Friday.
