The Hamburg 12U softball team won the Berks County Girls Softball League championship this summer.

The BCGSL (Berks County Girls Softball League) is comprised of teams throughout Berks county. The league is made up of girls age 6 to 18 years of age, and divides the girls into different age brackets.

Hamburg, which competed in the 12B division, had a fantastic season, going 17-0 and completed its undefeated season in a 15-3 win over Wilson in the championship game. The stats for the 17-game season were 234 runs scored against 47 runs allowed for the champs.

Hamburg’s league, the HAGAA (Hamburg Area Girls Athletic Association), is comprised of all volunteer parents which run the organization and provide the girls with the means to participate in the BCGSL. The HAGAA organization is funded by registration fees, fund raisers, and community donations to keep this opportunity available for all the girls involved.

The team is comprised of Kaylee Hoshauer, Amelia Gassert, Erica Gerner, Hailey Strunk, Shayna Morales, Emily Zimmerman, Kassandra Dietrich, Brooke Amadoro, Hailie Edwards, Kaylee Klee, Kylah Reading, Kaydyn Shakespeare and coaches Brian Gerner, Amy Gassert, Matt Strunk and Jason Reading.
