bally >> A community prayer vigil has been planned this week to show support for immigrant families.

On Friday, June 29, from 8:30-9:30 p.m. Bally Mennonite Church, Route 100, Bally, is inviting the community to join in a prayer vigil for immigrant families. The purpose of the service is to pray for refugees everywhere, particularly immigrant families being separated at the U.S.-Mexican border. The vigil will include prayers for those suffering as well as those working on their behalf.

Additionally, a drop box has been set up outside the church to collect hygiene items for refugees. The items are distributed by Mennonite Central Committee (MCC, church relief agency) around the world. The collection will be held until the end of August and specific instructions on items being collected can be found on the church’s website.
